What is a Cat Cafe? The term 'cat cafe' is commonly used to describe a place where people can hang out with cats, regardless of whether they serve coffee or other beverages. In accordance with the Department of Health requirements, there is a self-service area for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cold drinks available in the check-in area. We do not provide food service, but we may offer pre-packaged goods. The cat lounge is a separate area that also acts as a foster home for rescued cats that are available for adoption.

A guardian will need to sign a waiver for each child. This waiver outlines the potential risks involved and serves as an agreement to enter at your own risk while holding our facility harmless. -
How do adoptions work?To adopt a cat, please fill out the Adoption Application on our website. Our adoption specialists review all applications, which usually take 5-7 business days to process. However, please note that applying does not guarantee approval to adopt. Once you receive approval, an adoption fee of $225 is required for one cat and $400 for two cats. We recommend double adoptions, especially for bonded pairs and littermates. Be aware that you need a carrier for transportation, and you can either purchase one at the Catfé or bring your own. We want to ensure that each cat finds the right home, so we appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the adoption process.
-
What’s included in the adoption fee?All cats at the Catfé are spayed/neutered and receive age-appropriate tests and vaccines before arrival. Adoption fees cover these services and a copy of the cat’s medical records is provided.
-
Where do the cats come from?We are currently partnered with Homeless Tails, a non-profit rescue organization that follows the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) philosophy to control the feral cat population in the area. Whenever a rescued cat is found to be young, pregnant, friendly, or sick, they are placed into foster care and receive medical attention until they are cleared by a veterinarian. Some of these cats are then placed in our Catfé, so they can socialize and find their forever home.
-
Can you take my cat? Can you take a cat I found? No. We are unable to take in animals that have been surrendered by their owners or found/rescued animals at our location. Please reach out to a non-profit animal rescue organization in your area for assistance. Check out this link: https://gardenstatecatexpo.com/cat-rescue-groups It's important to note that abandoning an animal is illegal in New Jersey and our location is monitored by cameras. If an animal is abandoned on our premises, we will take legal action.
